This little girl is in the shade of a tree in front of her father’s shop, as well as their home. She’s with a friend of her, in the background, and her beloved sheep that in a few hours will be beheaded to pay religious homage with one of the bloodiest celebrations of the Tunisian people, called “Aid El Ahda“.
The little girl, in her stupendous innocence, sports full of vitality and enthusiasm eyes, but what struck me most is the relationship she has with her pet. Because the rams here are really seen as such.
I had a single discrete camera with me which allowed me to quickly compose and take this photo. I didn’t need to move too many dials, to press too many buttons: what I needed was at my fingertips and at a glance I was able to do what otherwise I would have probably lost forever: the photo of the day.
